UNILAG Moves 2026/2027 Direct Entry Deadline to October 6
The University of Lagos (UNILAG) has announced a further extension of the deadline for prospective Direct Entry candidates seeking admission for the 2026/2027 academic session. According to the latest notice issued by the university, candidates now have until Tuesday, October 6, 2026, to complete and submit their Direct Entry applications through the UNILAG admission portal. The new date replaces the earlier September 29 deadline announced by the university.
The extension gives applicants who have not yet completed their registration additional time to submit their forms. UNILAG has advised prospective Direct Entry candidates to use the additional period to ensure that their applications are properly completed and submitted before the new closing date. Candidates who leave their applications incomplete or fail to submit them before the deadline may not be considered under the university’s registration process.
The university’s original 2026/2027 Direct Entry registration notice stated that eligible candidates should have selected UNILAG as their first-choice institution in the 2026/2027 JAMB Direct Entry application. Applicants are also required to meet the stated O’Level conditions, including five relevant credit passes in one sitting with English Language and Mathematics among the required subjects.
During the application process, candidates are expected to access the UNILAG application portal, select the undergraduate application option and log in with their Direct Entry JAMB registration details. The university’s registration guidelines also require applicants to provide and upload relevant academic credentials, which may include First Degree, HND, OND, NCE, JUPEB, Cambridge A’ Level and other accepted qualifications, alongside the required O’Level results.
UNILAG previously scheduled the Direct Entry registration to run from September 9 to September 22, 2026, before subsequently extending the deadline to September 29. The latest announcement therefore represents a second extension of the application period. The university’s notice specifically encourages candidates who are yet to complete their applications to take advantage of the additional time rather than wait until the final day.
Prospective applicants should therefore complete their Direct Entry applications and submit them on or before October 6, 2026. Candidates should also carefully review the information entered on their forms and ensure that their supporting credentials are properly uploaded before submission. Any further changes to the deadline or application requirements should be confirmed through official UNILAG announcements rather than relying on older registration dates circulating online.
