Special Fee For Newly Admitted Students in OAU

• Development Fee: Every new student at the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is required to pay a one-time development fee. Currently, the fee sits at N18,000, and it covers the student all through their stay at the university.
• TISHIP fee: This is an acronym for “Tertiary Institutions Students Health Insurance Program.” It is one of the smallest fees on the list as it costs just N2,000. This fee is a way to help students access affordable healthcare by the university.
• Students Welfare Insurance Scheme: This is another very low fee. It costs only N1,000 and it is paid by students to cover their welfare during their stay on the campus.
• Accommodation/Hostel Fee: Students who want to stay on campus are required to pay hostel fees. Compared to many other federal institutions, the hostel charge at OAU is very affordable. The current charge for a bedspace allocated to each student is N3,090. Students in 100 and 400 levels are given preference while those in 200 and 300 levels have to ballot to get a space.

Obafemi Awolowo University, formerly the University of Ife, is located at the heart of Ile-Ife, Osun state. This remains the main stain in this university’s garment till date. Although the school is now more settled and less of issues like these have been experienced, some people still fear unnecessary “alutas” might still affect the flow and rhythm of the school
