LAUTECH
Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH), Ogbomoso, has provided an important update on its 2026/2027 undergraduate admission exercise. The university confirmed that the admission process is still ongoing after a technical issue on the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Central Admissions Processing System, known as JAMB CAPS, temporarily affected the exercise. The issue has now been resolved, and candidates who participated in the LAUTECH Post-UTME screening are advised to check their admission status and continue following the university’s instructions.
The latest development means that candidates who have been waiting for their LAUTECH admission status should not assume that the exercise has been cancelled or that they have missed admission. The university is still processing admissions for the 2026/2027 academic session. Candidates should log in to their JAMB CAPS accounts and check whether their admission status has changed. Those who receive an admission offer should carefully follow the instructions on JAMB CAPS, including accepting the offer where required, before proceeding with subsequent university registration procedures.
One of the major issues candidates need to pay attention to is the uploading of O’Level results. Applicants who registered for the LAUTECH screening exercise with awaiting results are expected to upload their WAEC, NECO or other acceptable O’Level results to JAMB CAPS. Candidates should not leave this until the final stage of the admission exercise because the availability of the required O’Level information can affect admission processing. Applicants should also make sure that the subjects and grades displayed on their JAMB profile are correct and correspond with the requirements for their chosen programme.
Candidates are also asking whether LAUTECH has released its 2026/2027 departmental cut-off marks and whether meeting the cut-off guarantees admission. LAUTECH has already published its programme-specific admission cut-off marks for the session, with different scores for programmes and merit categories. For example, the published Post-UTME cut-off figures include separate thresholds for General Merit, Oyo State Merit and Other States Merit. Medicine has a General Merit score of 82.00, while Nursing has 74.27 under General Merit. Meeting a published cut-off mark, however, should not be treated as an automatic guarantee of admission because candidates must also satisfy the programme’s other admission conditions and compete for available spaces.
Another important question is whether LAUTECH has released the complete 2026/2027 admission list. Candidates should be careful about unofficial claims that the final or complete list has been released. The current official update confirms that the admission exercise is still ongoing following the resolution of the JAMB CAPS issue. Therefore, applicants should monitor both their JAMB CAPS accounts and the official LAUTECH admission portal for their individual admission status rather than relying on social media lists or messages from unofficial agents.
Candidates who applied for LAUTECH 2026/2027 admission should therefore keep checking for updates, ensure their O’Level results are properly uploaded where applicable, and respond promptly if an admission offer appears on JAMB CAPS. The university has also previously warned applicants against dealing with unauthorized persons because admission is conducted according to established criteria. For the most reliable information on admission status, cut-off marks, registration and subsequent steps, candidates should rely on LAUTECH and JAMB rather than paying anyone who claims to be able to influence the admission process.
